WILD HEARTS – Our Targeted Community
The Wild Heart: Really everyone is in our targeted community. We believe that everyone, in one way or another, is “Wild at Heart”. Our “wildness” is sometimes a matter of a lack of knowledge or maturity or training and sometimes its just a matter of bad choices, both intended and unintended. Being “wild” is defined as being uncontrolled or unrestrained, especially in the pursuit of pleasure. It cannot be denied that reckless pursuits may find some short lived pleasure, but those that choose this way, do it at great risk and may be choosing a path that will quickly render them lost in a darker wilderness than they hoped to find and quite possibly with a “fallen-short” condition or brokenness that hinders them from getting out of that wilderness. In the deepest reaches of the heart, true pleasure, better said – satisfaction – will never be found outside of God’s plan, and yes His desire, to show you a way to “life and life to the fullest” through Jesus Christ (John 10:10). We all have a predator enemy that is waiting to kill, steal and destroy the life God intends for us (also John10:10). We believe we are all people, created in the image of God, but born into a fallen world. We all need the nurturing of the Gospel through God’s Word, God’s Spirit and God’s People. Living in the natural environment of this fallen world “wildly” or unrestrained, produces a heart that is not domesticated (educated) or not tamed (skilled and satisfied). The road of life is best travel with an effective plan, experienced partners and adequate provisions. WAHA wants to offer that.
The Wilderness: A wilderness by definition is an uncultivated, uninhabited, inhospitable place. For the average Joe or Jane, a wilderness is a place that is not intended for or sympathetic to those that are ill-equipped, unprepared, untrained or uneducated (even more so those who are unrestrained). For EVERY traveler the wilderness will place you in a position of disadvantage and disfavor. Traveling alone, or with others ill-equipped, can quickly go from a thrilling adventure to scary abandonment and compromised choices. We at WAHA are not perfect, but we have some experience in wilderness adventures, both outdoors and in life. We hope you’ll trust us to join in and travel the road of life together.
