A cloud of feathers explode in a blur at your feet, accompanied by loud, rapid pulsing. The quail accelerates and rises rapidly—bullet-shaped wings propelling it forward, while you try to regain your composure. Almost reading your mind, the quail immediately drops to fly closer to the ground, flying low and dodging bushes and cactus like a highly-skilled nap-of-the-earth fighter pilot. It suddenly occurs to you that the element of surprise left you no time to raise your shotgun before the quail vanish into the underbrush. The adventure leaves your heart racing, but you quickly head out in pursuit of the covey.

You don’t even need a shotgun, since there is some equipment available for those without, so you don’t have any excuse for not joining the adventure.
