Join WAHA on a great Deep Sea Fishing Adventure aboard a charter boat reserved just for WAHA adventurers. The adventure begins with a drive from Phoenix to the San Diego area, where we board the charter boat. We travel to the fishing area by night, with sleeping areas provided on board. The fishing begins early morning and continues through late afternoon, after which we head for the dock. Saturday evening is spent eating dinner and relaxing in a motel room before heading back to Phoenix Sunday. This is an excellent opportunity to escape the summer heat and enjoy some great, cool deep sea fishing with other WAHA adventurers.
Fishing equipment is included in the adventure cost. You may bring your own deep-sea fishing equipment if desired. Bring an ice chest for fish if you plan to bring fish home. Appropriate clothing. Temperatures can vary dramatically depending on the weather and rain is also possible.
The adventure begins Friday afternoon, as the adventurers leave Phoenix at 3:00 PM, and it continues through Sunday early afternoon, when they return to Phoenix.
Transportation is provided, with travel time of approximately 6.0 hours each way.
This great adventure includes all meals from Friday evening through Sunday lunch, and no one goes hungry.
Accommodation include a place to sleep on the boat the first evening and a shared motel room Saturday night.
There is a maximum of 14 adventurers for this trip. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, with full payment required to make a reservation due to the limited space.
This adventure is limited to July and August.

What kind of transportation will be used for the trip over to the San Diego area? We will drive from Phoenix to San Diego, and WAHA will provide the carpools (e.g. van, Suburban)
Do we need to purchase the fishing license before we leave on the trip? No. The fishing license is included and we will obtain them from the charter service when we arrive.
What type of fish could we catch? Fishing the waters of Southern California, you may catch Yellowtail, Albacore, Tuna and much more.
Is lodging included and if so, what type? Yes, lodging is included. Adventurers sleep on the boat Friday night, in small bunk room with 4 single and 6 double bunks. Saturday night, we stay in a local motel, where the rooms are shared—two people per room.
Do we have to bring food along for the trip? No. All of your meals are provided. “On shore” meals include dinner Friday and Saturday night and breakfast and lunch Sunday morning. The charter boat provides breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and has snacks and beverages available for purchase.
How big is the boat and how many people does it hold? The charter boat is 46' x 15' and holds 14 people plus the crew.
Will there be other people besides WAHA on board? No. The boat is chartered exclusively for use by WAHA adventurers.
What facilities does the charter boat have? The charter boat lists the features and amenities below. - Galley - TV and DVD Player - 1 head and hot shower - Fresh water maker - 300 HP diesel engine - Cruising speed of 10 knots - Modern electronics including full color sonar - Large bait capacity and refrigerated fish hold
How do I pay for the trip, since there isn’t an online payment option? You can send the money for the trip to the main WAHA address below. Full payment of $350/person or a $175/person non-refundable deposit is needed by the end of April to ensure participation, and to allow others to sign-up for the adventure if necessary.

What if something arises and I am unable to go after paying? WAHA will reimburse you for any payment amount over and above the $175 deposit, and will provide you with a tax-deductible receipt for the non-refundable deposit amount.
Is there a waiting list if the adventure is full? Yes. WAHA will add names to the waiting list once the adventure is full, and will contact them in the order received should any spots open.
